Abstract
The recursive construction scheme for generating higher-order nonlocal charges in two-dimensional theories is examined with regard to whether these charges form a simple algebra. The chiral Gross-Neveu model is studied as an example. The implication of an algebra in the quantum theory is discussed. Keywords
