Abstract
The determination of threshold potentials for multiple ionization processes is shown to depend on the threshold law assumed for these processes. Further support has been obtained for the previously proposed nth power rule for n‐fold ionization by electron impact, and limits have been set to the values of the thresholds for multiple ionization in the rare gases and mercury. Keywords
