Abstract
This review gives a survey of the following topics: (i) results on analyticity and asymptotic growth that follow from axiomatic quantum field theory, (ii) bounds and inequalities involving cross sections at high energies, (iii) theorems and relations between cross sections requiring special assumptions, and (iv) a discussion of the Pomeranchuk theorem and of experimental and theoretical results that would hold if it were violated. Keywords
