Abstract
The cross sections for energetic electron excitation of the parity‐forbidden transitions are calculated in the Born approximation. The intensities for these forbidden transitions are predicted to be comparable to the intensities of the allowed and transitions for scattering angles as small as 0.75° for 34‐keV electrons.
