Abstract
Preliminary results of neutron scattering and dielectric measurements on NaNO2 are reported. The dielectric data reveal that the width TN - TC of the incommensurate phase decreases with increasing hydrostatic pressure up to 1000 psi and then increases. TN - TC and the amplitude of the incommensurate modulation both decrease with increasing electric field Eb while the modulation wavevector is insensitive to Eb.Keywords
