Abstract
Improvement in survival and local control rates in children with neoplasms in head and neck regions may demonstrate increased latrogenic adverse effects of treatment. Mandibular growth and developmental abnormalities were reported in 3 children with Hodgkin''s disease treated by external beam megavoltage therapy. Radiations to the mandible during mantle field therapy were measured and found significant. Possible dose reduction methods are discussed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
