Abstract
In this paper we consider a simple self-consistent scheme which serves to control anharmonically the fluctuations of the phase of the order parameter in the low-temperature side of the critical region of a type-II superconductor near the upper critical field. The numerical solution of the resulting coupled integral equations offers an explanation of the depression of the experimental specific heat of niobium below the one-dimensional curve, found by Farrant and Gough. Keywords
