Abstract
This research develops a Likert-type scale to measure final consumers' involvement with the purchasing activity. The scale is employed to test hypotheses concerning relationships between market characteristics and purchasing involvement. Purchasing involvement is found to be related to sex, education, income, and stage of the family life cycle. Keywords
