Abstract
We report mesoscopic surface morphologies that occur on Nb surfaces during normal epitaxial growth on miscut sapphire. These features are remarkably effective as growth templates which give selectivity up to approximately : 1 between the two alternative stacking sequences of fcc metals, when grown heteroepitaxially on Nb.Keywords
