Abstract
Five strains of H. capsulatum were used. In a modified Sabouraud''s broth, the yeastlike phase did not propagate. In beef extract broth the greatest production of yeastlike cells occurred at pH 7.3 - 7.5. There was some conversion to the mycelial phase. The best results were obtained in brain heart infusion broth at pH 7.4 - 7.5 at 37 C. Conversion of the yeastlike phase decreased with increasing pH.Keywords
