Abstract
Dropping hCG levels were studied in 76 patients following laparoscopic treatment of ectopic pregnancy. The drop in hCG is the same as after conservative treatment using laparotomy. This study shows that early detection of treatment failure is possible from the second or third postoperative day onward. The authors report a schema for postoperative follow-up after laparoscopic treatment for ectopic pregnancy that relies on the rate of hCG drop. (J GYNECOL SURG 7:211, 1991)Keywords
