Abstract
The distribution of V in several biological materials and an estimate of its significance in nutrition are given. Among the materials analyzed were eggs and milk, tissues from normal adult rats, and diet ingredients fed to these animals. The spectrographic technique employed was sensitive to as little as 1-5 p.p.m. of V in the ash of biological materials. The results of these analyses do not confirm the reported widespread distribution of this element. If V functions in the normal nutrition of the rat or the developing chick embryo, it must do so in conc. of less than 1-5 p.p.m. of the inorganic content. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
