Abstract
The polarization of 424-Mev nucleons elastically scattered by nuclei is calculated by a method which is similar to the Born approximation, but in which the phase shifts of the incident plane wave due to the scattering potential is taken into consideration. A qualitative agreement with the experimental result is obtained if one uses the well parameters determined by Riesenfeld and Watson. Poor agreement at the diffraction minimum may be attributed to the existence of inelastic scattering in the experimental data. Keywords
