Abstract
Four different methods to test ADCC against Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) determined antigens were analyzed. Optimal ADCC was obtained if viral antigens were present during the cytotoxicity reaction. Killing probably was mediated by EBV-related immune-complexes forming Fc-Fc receptor bridges between Fc receptor-bearing effector cells [human lymphocytes] and Fc receptor-bearing target cells [human Burkitt''s lymphoma lymphoblastoid P3HR-1, Daudi and Raji cells]. Only lymphoid target cells with a high expression of Fc receptors were susceptible in this particular system. This publication has 17 references indexed in Scilit:
