Abstract
The static spin susceptibility of antiferromagnetic chromium containing nonmagnetic impurities is calculated using a two-band model. Variation in the size of the electron jack and hole octahedron upon alloying is taken into account within the rigid-band approximation. The impurity phonon-scattering contributions to the susceptibility have been evaluated. The theory is compared with experimental results on binary chromium alloys containing dilute amounts of ruthenium and rhenium. Agreement is found to be quite good. Keywords
