Abstract
The distribution of valence neutrons of odd-odd nuclei was investigated in the framework of the interacting boson-fermion-fermion model. It was found that the occupation probability of the ν orbit increased by 0.084±0.037 when exciting the odd proton from the to the state. The change was interpreted as a result of the proton-neutron interaction. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
