Abstract
We report the direct observation of the spin-orbit splitting n the X̃ 2E state of methoxy radical, CH3O. The doubling of emission features in the à 2A1→X̃ 2E system by 61.5±1.0 cm−1 supports the analysis of the laser magnetic resonance data, but differs from theoretical prediction. The high frequency spin-orbit component of the origin band is relocated to 32 306±2 cm−1.Keywords
