Abstract
Resonant tunneling is studied by use of Feynman’s path integrals. The semiclassical Green’s function is obtained for a one-dimensional double-barrier structure. This approach leads to a clearer and deeper understanding of the physical process of resonant tunneling. It is shown that sequential tunneling never gives rise to negative differential resistance. Keywords
