Abstract
The cytopathology of human diploid cells infected by myxoma virus, simian virus 40, and adenovirus type 12 was studied by tissue culture techniques. Degeneration of human diploid cells infected by myxoma virus was both rapid and complete and was unaffected by hyperimmune serum added to the culture. Adenovirus infection affected the mitotic rate and chromosome breaks but could be inhibited to some extent by the addition of hyperimmune serum. A similarity in the cytopathology of virus infected diploid cells with irradiated cell cultures was discussed. Keywords
