Abstract
The Afrotropical braconine genus Archibracon is revised. A total of 27 species or species complexes are (re-) described and an illustrated key is provided for the separation of most females. Five new species are included: A. nigricephalus sp. nov., A. curticornis sp. nov. and A. luteoflagellaris sp. nov. from Zaire; A. sigwalti sp. nov. from Madagascar; A. grangeri sp. nov. from Ivory Coast and Uganda. The following new synonyms are proposed: Archibracon gutta (Enderlein, 1920) (= A. cameroni Brues, 1926, replacement name for Exothecus flaviceps Cameron, 1906 not Brullé, 1846); A. forticornis (Cameron, 1906) (= A. flavofasciatus Cameron, 1906); A. alluaudi Fahringer, 1931 (= A. flavofasciatus Cameron, 1906); A. pulchripennis (Cameron, 1906) (= A. spilopterus (Cameron, 1904)); A. cognatus (Szepligeti, 1914) (= A. spilopterus (Cameron 1904)). The following new combinations are proposed: Archibracon dimaensis (Cameron) (= Iphiaulax dimaensis Cameron); Archibracon atricauda (Enderlein) (= Udamolx atricauda Enderlein); Fraterarchibracon affinis (Szepligeti) (= Pseudobracon affinis Szepligeti); Bathyaulax atriceps (Kriechbaumer) (= Iphiaulax atriceps Kriechbaumer); Sororarchibracon megacephalus (Szepligeti) (= Pseudobracon megacephalus Szepligeti). Fraterarchibracon rubricorpus Quicke, 1985 is a new junior synonym of Fraterarchibracon affinis (Szepligeti, 1914).Keywords
