Abstract
Pseudoscalar meson-baryon-baryon () couplings are analyzed in both the Klein-Gordon (KG) and Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau (DKP) formalisms. Present determinations of these coupling constants indicate that both the pseudoscalar (ps) and pseudovector (pv) KG couplings are in relatively poor agreement with SU(3), whereas the pv DKP coupling is in excellent agreement with SU(3). Furthermore, the value extracted from the DKP coupling is close to the canonical SU(6) value .
