Abstract
The alpha-hydroxyalkylation of tetrahydrofuran with aldehydes via radical C-H abstraction was conducted using triethylborane in the presence of tert-butyl hydroperoxide. This study presents a rare instance of direct intermolecular radical addition of unactivated cyclic ether to aldehydes. Keywords
