Abstract
The interaction energy between two spins which are coupled with the conduction electrons via the hyperfine interaction is calculated at zero temperature for arbitrary magnetic field strength. The noninteracting electron system is bounded by a surface which is perpendicular to the applied magnetic field. Analytic results are presented for a surface which is simulated by the infinite-barrier model with specular reflection. The interaction energy is also calculated for the nearly-free-electron model with specular-reflection boundary conditions. Keywords
