THE CONTINUED INJECTION OF OESTRIN INTO YOUNG RATS

Abstract
Continued injection of oestrin (Theelin) into 25 young rats resulted in an inhibition of ovarian growth and in a certain amount of thyroid hypertrophy, but there was no definite effect on the weight of either the anterior or posterior lobes of the pituitary. The most consistent effect was the inhibition of ovarian growth, in proportion to the no. of days of injection, so that over the age-range employed the extent of inhibition increased logarithmically with time.
