Abstract
We present an analysis of the phenomena occurring whenever a level crossing is encountered. Besides Landau-Zener transitions and the quantum nonintegrable phase, fractionalization of quantum numbers and chaotic behavior emerge as intrinsically intertwined phenomena.Keywords
