Abstract
We obtained data supporting our previous calculations of X-ray diffraction curves from mosaic crystals at near-normal incidence angles. The data were collected from copper crystals with mosaic spreads of 1.2° and 0.4° by scanning the photon energy in the vicinity of 3 keV at a synchrotron-radiation beamline designed for surface science. The 1.2° mosaic crystal showed Bragg-peak widths markedly dependent on the off-normal angle of incidence while the dependence for the 0.4° crystal was much weaker. The observed peak widths agree with calculations if an energy resolution of 2.1 eV is assumed for beamline 1A of the Photon Factory, at which the experiment was conducted. Keywords
