Abstract
Coulomb excitation of the first 2+ states of the even tin nuclei was produced by 10-MeV particles to obtain accurate values (relative error ± 2%, absolute error ± 5%). The experimental values are compared with the values calculated by Kisslinger and Sorensen and by Uher and Sorensen. The Uher-Sorensen 's are in appreciably better agreement with the experimental results than are the Kisslinger-Sorensen ones.
