Abstract
"Effective cross sections" for the (), (), and () reactions on various targets were measured relative to the reaction. The bombarding particles were the spectrum of neutrons generated in a Cu beamstop by 750-MeV protons. The cross section systematics as a function of target mass number are compared with available 14-MeV neutron cross sections for (, ) and () reactions and with results from intranuclear-cascade calculations.
