Abstract
The reaction at low energies is discussed using a direct capture model and assuming that the process is predominantly . A good description of the total cross section for is obtained. The inclusion of a -state component into the cluster model wave function of originates nonvanishing tensor analyzing powers. depends linearly on the asymptotic ratio of and increases in magnitude with energy. It is suggested that the measurement of or can determine the sign and magnitude of .
