COMBINED ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHY, STETHOGRAPHY AND CARDIOSCOPY IN THE EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF HEART DISEASE

Abstract
The combination of reliably recorded and interpreted graphic records is of great value in differentiating functional and organic forms of heart disease. Organic lesions are prone to manifest themselves in the stethographic tracing by associated abnormalities in the heart sounds themselves. A simplified chest lead technique is described. Abnormalities were found in 20-47% of tracings, the higher % in the older age groups. The use of graphic methods for screening populations for heart disease is discussed.
