Newer Techniques for Immunoelectrophoresis and Immunodiffusion

Abstract
Three novel modifications of the immunoelectrophoresis and immunodiffusion techniques for more sensitive detection of low levels of precipitating antibody are described under the designations "cross-over" electrophoresis, "counter-current" electrophoresis and "90% serum-in-agar microspot" immunodiffusion. The last is particularly useful for the detection of spontaneous anti-mold precipitins in the sera of asthmatic patients and of autoimmune precipitating antibodies.
