Action of Trypsin upon Glutamic Acid-γ-hydrazide Derivative*

Abstract
Trypsin can hydrolyze carbobenzoxy-L-glutamic acid-alpha-ethyl ester-gamma-hydrazide, carbobenzoxyl-L-isoglutamine-gamma-hydrazide, poly-L-glutamic acid-gamma-hydrazide in descending order of the reaction rate. The above ester and amide derivatives do not inhibit tryptic hydrolysis of alpha-benzoyl-L-lysine ethyl ester, alpha-benzoyl-L-arginine ethyl ester and alpha-benzoyl-L-argininamide, though free L-glutamic acid-gamma-hydrazide is inhibitory in competitive manner.
