Radiative Lifetime Measurements of the Low Lying ElectronicB2Σ State of CaH

Abstract
A general description of an experimental equipment used for time resolved laser spectroscopy is given with special attention to the application to radiative lifetime measurements on the low electronic states of CaH. The lifetime of the B2 Σ (v = 0) state is determined for N values where the perturbation with the A2Π state is supposed to be negligible. The derived lifetime is 57 ± 2 ns. From this value an absorption oscillator strength f0,0 = 0.11 ± 0.005 is computed.
