Abstract
B. monticola has a distribution in Britian, restricted to Vaccinium moorland. Pollen was obtained from foraging bumblebees, from returning foragers at the nest site, and from the larval meconia. The results of these pollen samples showed that in the Peak District, B. monticola collects pollen from Ulex europaeus, V. myrtillus, V. vitis-idaea, Lotus corniculatus, Trifolium repens and Calluna vulgaris and that in this area B. monticola is a moorland edge animal. The different methods of obtaining the pollen biased the results. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
