Abstract
IN current usage, "therapeutics" generally indicates the administration of drugs for the purpose of treating or curing disease. Hence, it seems reasonable to begin a discussion of therapeutic implications of the intestinal flora with examples of drugs whose mode of action may be influenced by the intestinal flora, with, later, speculation on future applications of the intestinal flora in various therapeutic situations.Intestinal Flora and Distribution of Salicylazosulfapyridine and Its MetabolitesThe intestinal flora seems to have an important role in the metabolism of salicylazosulfapyridine (Azulfidine), a drug regarded as effective therapy in ulcerative colitis and other inflammatory diseases of . . .Keywords
