Abstract
Eighty-one patients with germ cell tumors or ovarian carcinoma were treated over a 4-yr period with cisplatin-containing combination chemotherapy. Eight patients (9.8%) experienced epileptic seizures during or within 3 mo. of this chemotherapy. While a definite causal relationship between the seizures and cisplatin could not be established, such episodes have rarely been seen in relationship to other cytotoxic drugs. A number of possible contributing factors were apparent, including hyponatremia and pretreatment impairment of renal function. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
