Abstract
We point out that, as in the case of other interacting systems, a time dependent Hartree theory provides a very simple way of examining the interaction between modes of coupled anharmonic oscillators. We determine the susceptibilities which are manifestations of both ordinary absorption spectroscopy and Raman scattering. Keywords
