Abstract
This paper describes a technique to design half-plane recursive filters with symmetric impulse response which have support on a triangular domain. By using a simple axis rotation, it is possible to design such filters in the first quadrant of the space domain. This procedure leads to a special class of half-plane filters which exhibit the best behavior along the main axes and require fewer coefficients than the general half-plane structure. Examples are included to demonstrate the usefulness of this approach. Keywords
