Abstract
Summary: A total of 115 among feathered and hairy animals of the zoological park of Rome was analyzed for the presence of keratinophilic flora. The most widespread genus was Chrysosporium, which was particularly common on birds. Trichophyton was distributed both on mammal fur and bird plumage. Microsporum was isolated only an mammals. Among the accompanying fungal flora Alternaria, Aspergillus, Cephalosporium, Cladosporium, Geotrichum, Penicillium, Scopulariopsis were the most diffused genera, but no particular correlation was observed between them and keratinophilic flora. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
