Abstract
In 5 dogs with accessory stomach pouches the antrum was resected. The immediate profound reduction in pouch secretion was maintained for from 6 months to 5 yrs. The quantitative response to histamine remained unchanged. It is concluded that antrum resection permanently abolishes the gastric phase of gastric secretion. Keywords
