Abstract
We have analyzed quantum mechanically the nonlinear current excited by p-polarized incident light on jellium surfaces. The microscopic structure of the surface is taken into account. In this work we derive the analytical expression for the nonlinear volume-current density. By volume we mean that the current is distributed in the entire medium. Its frequency and jellium-electron-density dependence are very different from those given by other models. Keywords
