Abstract
Measurements of the optical properties of dilute Ag: Pd alloys are described. The results are fitted to a calculation on the Friedel—Anderson model of the alloy. The agreement is sufficiently good that all of the free parameters of the model can be determined. Using these parameter values, other properties of the alloy are evaluated and compared with measurements, providing a test of the validity of the model. The result is generally favorable, and further work, both experimental and theoretical, can be done to make the test even more quantitative. Keywords
