Abstract
A comparison was made of all the cases diagnosed as this syndrome at Rambam Hospital, in all of Israel and in the world literature of recent years. Of a total of 51 cases collected in Israel, only 24 conform to what we consider to be the diagnostic criteria for the Chiari-Frommel syndrome, and of 12 new cases published in the world literature, since 1930, only 6 are thought to be cases of the syndrome. A wide range of conditions have been included in this syndrome, apparently, because the 2 fundamental criteria-galactorrhea and amenorrhea - can occur separately or together in a variety of conditions. The close relationship of the Chiari-Frommel syndrome with Sheehan''s or Simond''s disease, based on symptoms, causes further diagnostic problems. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
