Abstract
Guinea pigs on normal and scurvy-producing diets were given intraven. injections of 25 mgm. ascorbic acid. The reducing power of the adrenal, ovary, liver, kidney and skeletal muscle (2,6-dichlorophenol-indophenol method) was immediately increased with return to initial value in 1 hr. Avitaminosis C up to 24 days did not interfere with the ability of the tissues to retain ascorbic acid but normal reduction was not attained in these cases by the dosage used. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
