Abstract
Results from a survey of 71 chairpersons at three midwestern universities are reported. Focus is on their perceptions of their roles, their performance and their selves and the factors influencing those perceptions. Comparisons of the three institutions are discussed in terms of differences in size, environments, and sources of funding and further research possibilities are suggested. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
