Abstract
The cross section for neutral-Higgs-boson production in or collisions from Compton scattering () of gluons from charm quarks in the proton is estimated to be in the picobarn range. With decay, the signature for this process is dramatic: The final state contains four fast charmed particles or two charmed particles in association with which are detectable through decay kinks or gaps. Comparisons are made with the fusion mechanism, which gives a comparable cross section but has much larger backgrounds.
