Abstract
For a dn ion at a site of Oh symmetry it is shown that the spin-allowed A1 to or from T1 and A2 to or from T2 vibronic transitions, induced by T1u vibrations, may be weak, and the coupling to T1u and T2u (and for cubal sites A2u) vibrations may be of similar strength. Keywords
