Abstract
It is shown that the off-diagonal Fourier components of the self-energy operator in a semiconductor come mostly from the electron propagator. The authors evaluate the contribution from the off-diagonal components of the dielectric function, according to a model by Inkson, and show that it is very small. Keywords
