Abstract
The distribution of receptors for estradiol (ER), progesterone (PgR) and androgens (dihydrotestosterone, DHTR) in 104 primary and 49 metastatic breast tumors from Indian women is reported for the 1st time. When compared to reports in the literature, a lower percentage (47%) of ER (+) tumors and a higher percentage (49%) of DHTR (+) tumors were observed. There were more ER (-) tumors in premenopausal as compared to postmenopausal women, and more ER (-) tumors had lymph node metastases at the time of surgery. Both correlations were statistically significant. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
