Abstract
Stalk and ear measurements were made in 45 fields in 2 years and correlated with final yields. Veg. measurements predicted the same yields in 1941 and 1942, but later more favorable conditions increased the yields 17% in 1942. Ear counts and measurements are practicable 3 wks. after silking, and correlations of r=0.9 to 0.98 were obtained between these measurements and final yields. Regressions for ear weight on size are given for 3 harvest periods and 2 yrs. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
